I keep looking in my inbox for comments for this fic I am working on and they are not there! Woe! And that would be because I haven't posted it yet! Double woe!

Of course, given that Fringe up to and including season 3x09 AND Darker Than Black season 1 are required viewing for this fic, even when I post it the comments aren't very likely! Woe!

Tomorrow, I shall likely have to work from home, because Toronto Does Not Do Snow Days. (That would be unCanadian - unless you're a Maritimer, in which case, by all means, schools close due to Wall of Snow falling. But not Toronto.)

Those of you in the Middle-Eastern-NorthAmerica-PathofSnowDoom -- stay warm and dry. ^_^

(This post really wants a Li not a Hei, but I can't do that on DW. Alas! Icon shuffle time!) Also also I want a DtB mood theme!

Oh, Toronto very much does do snow days. It just depends where you are. Met a former co-worker walking home tonight who informed me happily that the JCC daycare is closed tomorrow because of the snow, none of which has fallen yet. Last time U of T closed, three years ago, they were called wimps because the accumulation was only about 8 inches, which is normal.

Toronto businesses OTOH-- nope. Of course not. The world's finance would crumble if a TO business closed for snow. And in '99 the Albertans laughed at us because, dude, when AL gets two feet of snow they go out and play in it, not drive themselves into heart attack mode because OHNOES I CAN'T GET IN TO THE OFFICE!!!

Yes, that. :p

My office unfortunately has the option of working from home - which everyone has preemptively opted into. However. There are ~100+ office staff, and only 70 VPN connections. The servers are going to choke. And the alternative? Route through Halifax, or California. :p

Of course, Weather Network still isn't calling for more than six inches over night and ten total, which should not close down the city centre. If you wanted to wander down to the office you could. Or stay warm at home and surf the net while business tries to rout through snow-blasted Halifax.

We're six or seven inches in and it's coming down hard. We cleared during a lull today, but I don't expect to be able to get out tomorrow. We live in the middle of nowhere so plowing us isn't a priority.

Neither is power, but we're used to that. We're last on the line, and if ANYTHING happens we lose power. Wood heat is our friend, and we're well stocked with kerosene lamps! Also, no lack of snow for the toilet flushing. :P
